Obama rejects 'petty politics' of stimulus critics

WILLIAMSBURG: President Barack Obama Thursday rejected the "petty politics" and "false theories" of critics of his stimulus plan, as debate on the 900 billion dollar package reached a crucial stage. In his most strident attack on Republican opponents to far in his young presidency, Obama said the American people "did not vote for the false theories of the past and they did not vote for phoney arguments and petty politics." "This is a moment for leadership that matches the great test of our times," Obama said at a retreat of Democratic members of the House of Representatives here.
