50 Indian fishermen held over encroaching Pakistani waters


KARACHI: Officials of Mary Time Security Agency arrested as many as 50 Indian fishermen and took 9 fishing-boats under control and registered cases against them over encroaching Pakistani waters early Friday.Spokesperson of MTSA Lieutenant Commander Shakeel Khan told Geo News, “Nine Indian fishing-boats entered several kilometers within Pakistani water limits. We signaled repeated warnings to them but went in vain. We then held them captive.”He said, the captured fishermen have been sent under police custody after preliminary investigation and added cases, under the section of 309, have been registered against them. Talking to Geo News Indian fishermen said, “It is difficult to differentiate the limits between Pakistan and India in sea therefore we mistakenly crossed Pakistan’s water limits. We regret our mistake and demand the government of Pakistan to take pity on us.”They also urged Indian government to release Pakistani fishermen as a sign of good gesture.
